Please don't look at the RRP price of this brush , it is very misleading !!I think this Electric brush should not cost more than £50. Battery charging takes ages and only last for 3-4 brush times of 2-3 minutes each. The only reason I gave this 2 stars is because it brushes well but other than that it is not premium brush. The travel case provided with it is made with very cheap plastic. It doesn't completely close either.Wireless timer is nice but I find it doesn't sync properly with the app. It could be the issue with the oral-b app or possibly the wireless timer.
The positive, anyone who has used one of these types of electric toothbrush will tell you how much cleaner you feel. I occasionally flit back to a conventional toothbrush and the difference is ever so noticeable. This my third modern electric toothbrush, another brand and style didn't feel as effective as this rotary type so I switched to an Oral-B mode some years ago. That was struggling to keep a charge and 2 or 3 days were as good as it got. As I travel a fair bit that was used less and less. This was on a daily deal and the price was very reasonable, the RRP being of course ridiculous. The bluetooth timer was an unwanted extra that I never envisioned using, it would have been nice to permanently switch it off on the toothbrush or at least default to offer rather than on. Less featured models were more expensive so I decided to live with it.The negative, the battery life is pretty poor. From the first Oral-B brush to this much more current model they seem to have made little progress with battery technology. I believe they quote 2 weeks which isn't great in this day and age when my shaver and trimmer last months. If I'm lucky I get a week out of mine and that's a 2-3 mins per brush twice a day. The proprietary charger which still in this day and age needs a shaver socket or adapter is a pain. So when I travel I take my reliable old £3 toothbrush. If it had a covered small USB socket then it would be a much improved piece of kit imho.
I got this on a sale, and I'm a bit of a gadget freak so having bluetooth sounded great to me... It's a definite upgrade to my old and very basic Oral-B toothbrush, the 3D action the first time I used it made me think I was going to brush my teeth clean off my face, but it did a great job and I'm accustomed to it now.The companion display is actually brilliant. I've always brushed for 2 minutes in the past, but I had no particular routine. Using the timer on the screen I can thoroughly and more importantly evenly brush each part of my mouth. I don't use the app on my phone each time I brush, but it stores 30 sessions, so you can just sync up at a later date.I wish that the lead on the charger was longer, I can't quite put on my sink and make it reach up to the shaver point in the light fitting above, so it has to live on top of my cupboard on the wall. The battery lasts a long time, but equally takes a very long time to recharge. The carrying case is useful and I'd be happy to take this toothbrush away without the charger for up to a week.
