This is amazing projector. I bought it mainly for home cinema purpose. The best thing with this projector is that it has ECO MODE. I found 3300 lumen is very high for movies in dark room. The eco mode works on 2050 lumen and have 10000 hours of lamp life compared to 6000 hours with normal mode. Also this mode uses less electricity and less noice. Before purchasing it I was bit worried about its 2 watt speakers but they are very load for normal room. I have to watch movies generally less than half of the full sound. Picture quality is superb and projector autofocus is very good. You don't need projector screen if you have white plain wall. Buy at least WXGA resolution.** Be care before buying the Chinese cheap projectors on Amazon. They are maintaining good rating via fake reviews in amazon. They provide wrong configuration. Just go for any trusted brand only. As my first projector was a low budget Chinese projector having very good rating in Amazon. But in reality It has many issues. It doen't focus well, the bright ness was too low, remote doen't work properly, sound is very low, colours are not proper. **
I require a projector that can withstand continuous use for 6 hours during training and presentations to clients. In the past, for almost 10 years, I have used an Acer projector. A decade is incredible life but the Acer had become bulky by modern standards and the lack of HDMI connectivity brought about a search for a new projector. This Epson projector is in a different league to the Acer. More compact, lighter, far superior picture quality and a vast array of features made it an easy choice. It hasn’t disappointed in any respect. The remote control is a nice touch but it’s the small things about the Epson that make it a brilliant choice for business. The sliding cover over the lens (instead of a cap), the menu items being so intuitive and easy to access, the height adjustable bar being far easier to use than the Acer and much more.HDMI image quality for training or PowerPoint presentations is superb. I have to use a live screen projection from an Apple MacBook Pro with high volume of text that is often moving on screen at pace. The Epson copes with it admirably.Heat dispersion appears to be efficient without being anything like as hot-running as the older Acer was. It is also reasonably quiet for the power it has.All-in-all, a wonderful projector that I have no complaints about whatsoever.
I was trying to decide between the Optoma GT1080E and this projector, having the opportunity to compare both. I opted for this one and have been very happy.Epson EB-U05 - For the best image quality - 8 Pros Vs 2 ConsPros> USB Port - Power fire stick directly> Very bright - can watch in daytime> Excellent clarity> Vibrant, better vivid colours and contrast> Cheaper by £150> Eco mode is only slightly dimmer and barely noticeable but the difference in fan noise is huge - so it's quite> Easy key-stoning and quick corner feature to fine-tune, both horizontal and vertical key-stoning so can be off-centre.> Better image quality than the OptomaCons> Long-throw, so need a very large room to benefit fully. Can't fill an entire wall with a screen about 1m smaller horizontally in my case> LargerOptoma GT1080E - For a bigger projection. 4 Pros vs 9 ConsPros> Short throw - huge screen filling the wall at not much off the wall> Excellent in the dark> Better to travel with> SmallerCons> Very poor performance in any sort of ambient light - unusable with the lights on or in daytime> Colour brightness and reproduction is quite poor in comparison to the Epson> Meant to have almost 2x the amount of contrast as the epson but cannot tell - just looks very slightly darker in the blacks> No regular sized USB port to power a fire TV stick etc> No quiet eco mode> Pixels more visible than the EB-U05> Only Vertical key-stoning> Short-throw, to fill a wall can mean having this in the middle of a room instead of out of the way> £150 more expensiveOverall this is a battle of quality vs size. If you have a small space, the optoma will be better for you but to get anything close to the Epson in quality, you'll want to be getting the Darbee version which is almost 2x the cost of the Epson. Even then it can't really compare. If you want the best quality but a smaller projection, then the Epson. Unless your room is big enough then with the Epson you can have the best of the two!I went with the Epson and ended up projecting on a different wall. Sacrificing the big screen portability but have a better quality projection for home viewing.
