This bot is superb when it's working but it might not last. Mine lasted for 2 months of daily use, before complaining of a main brush failure. The main brush was in good order.Amazon put just over a 1 month return window on this product. If it fails you are guided to Ecovacs repair service (Let Me Repair UK). If you can, phone Amazon and get them to accept a return. The repair service is not good. The repair took 3 months to complete. Let Me Repair UK pay and arrange collection and delivery. They are friendly but they need to be prodded to communicate. They told me that they were "awaiting parts" from Ecovacs to complete the repair and this appears to be the cause of the delay.3 weeks and 3 days after it was returned from repair it started failing again with the same "main brush failure". Replacing the main brush didn't help. Thankfully, amazon offered a refund, so though a lot of time was wasted, no money was wasted. If the lifetime of these units is 14/(Days used per week) months that's pretty poor and other, more expensive vacuums might look more appealing. Maybe this is a one off or maybe what I ask of the robot is more (house with dogs ).The filters and brushes need regular replacement. The filters and side brushes run out first (in my case after 7 weeks of daily use) and the main brush has roughly double the lifetime.I thought that the first robot might just be a bad version so after returning I ordered another one. The second version was worse than the first and was returned very quickly.Original Review------------------I bought when this was £179 and at this price point there are very few other options. It uses a random movement rather than a calculated route approach. This takes longer to clean everywhere and might mean the occasional miss. That is about the only downside. The consumables are cheap (new filters and brushes) and available from third party sellers. It deals with dog hairs well, having a capable main brush and two power settings. I just leave it on max power. The battery lasted about 1 1/2 hours when it arrived and now it's closer to 1 1/4 hours. That's enough to clean a 3-4 bed house effectively and the charge time allows for two cleans per day easily. If it's your first robot vac (it was mine). It's probably sensible to think about your home and whether you can fix the places it's likely to get stuck or capture wires. It will happily pull about a trailing usb lead but it's yet to damage any leads. It does have a robust work method and will close doors or move objects under ~1kg in it's attempts to clean.Overall a fabulous machine that saves a lot of time.
Deebot, or Tobee:D as we like to call him (see what we did there? It’s Deebot backwards.... anyway) is a blumming wonder! I did not have the highest of hopes for him, especially as he was so much cheaper than the now more mainstream brands. In fact I bought him because I’m a boy, and it was a cheap robot that I thought I could get past the long haired general under the guise of ‘useful household appliance/device/aid’ but by golly, he is that and more. We have programmed him to come out twice a day, while we are out at work and while we are in bed, he wanders around for about an hour and a half before he stumbles back to find his charger like a sleepy drunk who’s not quite sure where he left his house - but he always finds it, even if he does bump into 3 dozen things on the way and goes round in a few circles. In the time he’s out, he covers all the floor through four rooms and picks up a surprising amount, so he has to be emptied daily, it takes 30 seconds, and only a few more to flip him over and clean his sensors every now and then. We have him linked to Alexa, there are only 3 commands, which work and mean we can switch him on and off from anywhere. We have a long haired cat, and pet hair is no longer an issue, partly because Tobee:D picks it up easily, and partly because the cat is terrified of him and doesn’t come in as much any more. Tobee:D is adorable and the whole family love him, when we get new carpets fitted upstairs next week, we are going to give him a go on them, if he can cope with those, I think he might get himself a friend to do upstairs, while he does down. I got this Deebot with a good discount on Black Friday and after a month with it, would happily pay full whack for him right now. Tobee:D is our first robot vac and we wouldn’t be without him. Winner winner! Now, if he also has a cousin that’s in the same price range and can cut the grass......
It tended to get trapped in some areas of a room, cleaning them many times, and not getting to other areas until the battery ran out. A complete waste of electricity. They seem to have a Trumpesque view on global warming. The app wanted permissions for everything, even whether you have a birth mark on your bum, or so it seemed. It can't connect to 5GHz wi-fi (mines a 6 month old SKy Q hub - rendering the whole thing useless.Emails to UK customer (dis)service are not answered within 2 working daysI would have given it no stars if the option was available
